We have had a busy few weeks in Year 1. 

We have been learning about Traditional tales and read the stories Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Little Red Riding Hood. We have really enjoyed reading these stories and we have been busy making story maps, acting out the story and writing letters. We have also been learning about shapes in Maths. We went on a 3D shape hunt and sorted shapes into groups. 

We are enjoying our topic ‘Remember when...’ and this week we talked about what we want to be when we grow up. 

We have been very creative and made some lovely firework pictures. 

What a busy few weeks 😊 

We have had a busy time in Year 1! We looked at the Australian tale of Tiddilick the Frog. We acted out the story and wrote about our favourite part. 

We then began our topic Remember When... We started by talking about our favourite memories. For homework we created memory boxes and shared them with our friends. 
 

We have also enjoyed our forest school activities with Miss Windsor!

Our class have really enjoyed learning about Australia this week. 

We have found out where Australia is, drawn the flag, found out about the different animals that live there, made our own boomerangs and found out about the different landmarks. 

We’re looking forward to finding out more next week :-)

Welcome to Year 1!

We have had a busy week in Year 1! We have been exploring the classroom and getting to know our new teachers.  We have had lots of fun getting to know our class guinea pig Rosie.  She enjoys lots of cuddles, and loves to eat cucumber and red peppers!
